There is no question for many of us that our animals are as
near and dear to us as our best friends.
Ask yourself then why should they be excluded from the most important day
in two peoples lives? Their wedding
day! A wedding is a merging of families.
Members of my family include our 4 legged brothers and sisters, our dogs and
horses!

When Leatherwood Mountains started hosting weddings over 10
years ago it became quickly evident that not just humans could be invited to
the nuptials. Cherished horses have
taken many a bride down the aisle to meet her groom. We have had entire wedding parties witness
the vows while sitting astride their mounts.
Beloved dogs have stood beside their people as vows are exchanged and
rings are placed on waiting fingers.
Our onsite Equine Center provides the perfect backdrop to
include your horse in the ceremony. You
can bathe them in the wash pit the day before and they can stick around for the
honeymoon while you hit the trails for a week of riding.

If you do not own your own horses or don’t want to hassle
with hauling them up then we have a wonderful string of horses that can be
hired for photos, ceremony inclusion and of course trail riding during your
vacation.
Some of the most dramatically beautiful ceremonies include a
Percheron led Horse Drawn Carriage that our friends Thomas and Shana Williams
from Alice Spring Carriage Company operate.
They can be hired to take care of the equine element for your ceremony
and provide exceptional photo opportunities for your photographer.

Fido makes a great ring bearer too! Leatherwood Mountains prides itself as being
a pet friendly resort. Our guests love
the fact that they can bring their dogs and enjoy a Blue Ridge Mountain weekend
in style. Many of our guest cabins are
pet friendly. Dogs love the great
outdoors and are welcome all over the resort as long as they are leashed.
